Steel rod, plastic, and wood
Like a hearth is considered to be the center of a home, this site specific piece was at the heart of my last show. There is an expanse of perception at play in it as you glimpse the tangled steel through the scratched plexiglass or step to view them from in between the swaying panels for a closer look. Like the members of a family some steel is young with a clean sheen, while others have spots of rust and age. This piece has an other worldly gentleness and psychological movement that emanates from the arc of a perfectly balanced wood pile.
